Näak – Sustainability and energy from nature

Näak (Nutrition for Adventurous Athletes who run Kilometers) is a Canadian sports nutrition company founded in 2016 by two endurance athletes, Minh-Anh Pham and William Walcker . Their goal was to develop high-performance, yet environmentally friendly nutritional products to support long-distance running.

Vision

The idea for Näaki was born when the founders encountered problems with traditional energy products during their own triathlon training: stomach upsets, energy crashes, and the side effects of artificial ingredients. They wanted to create a more natural alternative that provided long-lasting energy that served both the needs of athletes and the environment. Thus, the Ultra Energy™ concept was born, combining science-based nutrition and sustainability.

Sustainable development

Näak focuses not only on nutrition, but also on how sports products can have a less negative impact on the environment . The company operates carbon neutrally and is B Corporation certified, which means it is committed to high ethical and environmental standards.

Of particular interest is Näaki's focus on "upcycle" thinking: the products utilize surplus and side-stream ingredients from the food industry, such as plant-based proteins and grain flours, that might otherwise end up as waste. This reduces resource waste and promotes a circular economy - without compromising on performance or taste.
