Maurten Gel Mix 480 6-pack box

Gel Mix 480 brings Maurten's Hydrogel technology into a new, bottle-dispensed form. When one sachet is mixed with 200 ml of water, the result is a liquid gel-like mixture containing 120 grams of carbohydrates.

Gel Mix 480 is pH-sensitive. Like Drink Mix, it reacts to the acidic environment of the stomach and forms a true hydrogel. The resulting structure encapsulates the carbohydrates and transports them through the stomach towards the intestine, where they are absorbed.

The product has been developed specifically for long training sessions and competitions, such as long-distance running, trail and ultra running, and gravel and other long cycling performances. The 120 grams of carbohydrates per sachet allow for flexible planning of energy intake during a long performance. Maurten itself highlights long performances and trail and ultra/gravel-type events as specific applications for Gel Mix 480.

Gel Mix 480 contains no added flavours, colourings, or preservatives. The neutral taste can be modified with Maurten Additions flavour mixes, available in Cola, Menthol, Orange, and Apple flavours. The prepared Gel Mix can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 72 hours.

Preparation and Use

Mix 1 sachet with 200 ml of water:

Fill the Gel Mix Flask up to the 200 ml mark with clean water. Maurten recommends water with a calcium content of no more than 80 mg/l.
If using a Maurten Addition flavour mix, add it to the water first and shake.
Slowly pour the Gel Mix 480 powder over the water.
Shake vigorously until the powder is completely dissolved and there are no lumps at the bottom of the bottle.
Allow the mixture to set for 5 minutes before consuming.
