Iron is needed for many body functions, especially for the transport of oxygen in the blood. With the help of iron, oxygen binds to hemoglobin, the hemoglobin contained in red blood cells, and travels with it throughout the body. The same is true for muscles: myoglobin (the so-called muscle hemoglobin) binds iron and thus ensures the muscles get enough oxygen. Since the body cannot produce iron itself, an adequate intake of iron through food or nutritional supplements is essential. Nutri-Plus Iron + Vitamin C tablets contain 20 mg of iron and 40 mg of natural vitamin C per tablet. One tablet a day provides the body with an optimal amount of iron. The vitamin C in the tablets increases the absorption of iron and also supports the immune system.
