Maurten Drink Mix 160 is designed to provide carbohydrates and hydration during endurance activities. The drink contains 40 grams of carbohydrates in 500 millilitres of water.
Maurten's hydrogel technology is based on alginate and pectin. In the stomach, the drink reacts to the acidic environment and forms a hydrogel. The hydrogel encapsulates the carbohydrates and transports them through the stomach to the intestines, where the carbohydrates are released and absorbed.
Drink Mix 160 is suitable for use before, during, and after training, as well as part of a larger carbohydrate loading plan in conjunction with Maurten gels and other energy products.
Instructions for use
Mix the contents of one sachet with 500 ml of water and shake well until the powder is completely dissolved.
Maurten emphasizes the importance of water quality for hydrogel formation. Use water with a calcium content of less than 40 mg/l. If you do not know the calcium content of the water, bottled water can be an option when its mineral content is indicated on the packaging.
