SIS Beta Fuel Energy + Electrolyte Gel – 40g Carbohydrates + 200mg Sodium
SIS Beta Fuel Energy + Electrolyte Gel combines effective carbohydrate loading and key electrolytes into a single energy gel. Each gel contains 40g of carbohydrates, 200mg of sodium, and a scientifically studied 1:0.8 maltodextrin-fructose ratio, enabling high carbohydrate intake with efficient absorption.
The gel is specifically designed for workouts and competitions lasting over 2 hours, where the need for both energy and electrolytes increases. Added sodium helps replace electrolytes lost through sweat and supports fluid balance, especially in warm conditions.
Why choose SIS Beta Fuel Energy + Electrolyte Gel?
- 40g carbohydrates per gel
- 200mg sodium to support hydration
- 1:0.8 maltodextrin-fructose ratio for efficient energy intake
- Designed for endurance performance over 2 hours
- Supports high carbohydrate intake (90–120g/h)
- Stomach-friendly formula
- Easy to combine with other SIS Beta Fuel products
Who is this product suitable for?
SIS Beta Fuel Energy + Electrolyte Gel is especially suitable for:
- cycling
- running
- triathlon
- skiing
- ultramarathons
- other long-duration endurance activities
It is an excellent choice especially in hot conditions or for athletes who sweat heavily and require both energy and electrolytes simultaneously.
Instructions for use
Consume 2–3 gels per hour during training or competition to achieve 80–120g of carbohydrates per hour. In practice, this means one gel approximately every 20 minutes. The product can be used as is or in conjunction with other products from the SIS Beta Fuel range to create a personalized fueling plan.

Carbohydrates for sustained performance
SiS BETA Fuel Energy + Electrolyte Gel belongs to Science in Sport’s advanced BETA Fuel range designed for endurance performance. Each gel contains 40g of carbohydrates in an optimised 1:0.8 maltodextrin–fructose ratio.
The combination of two carbohydrate sources is designed to enhance carbohydrate utilisation, support power output, and reduce gastrointestinal distress caused by large carbohydrate intakes during prolonged exercise.
For workouts and competitions lasting over two hours, athletes can aim for approximately 90–120 grams of carbohydrates per hour. One gel provides a convenient single serving containing 40g of rapidly available carbohydrates.
In a study, the use of BETA Fuel products at a rate of 120 grams per hour during a three-hour cycling session resulted in a high exogenous carbohydrate oxidation rate of approximately 1.6 g/min. The study results support the benefits of the 1:0.8 ratio compared to the traditional 2:1 carbohydrate blend.
Three gels per hour provide a total of 120g of carbohydrates and help maintain carbohydrate availability during prolonged performance. The carbohydrates in BETA Fuel gels can be utilised in the same way as the carbohydrates in the series’ drink powders and energy chews, allowing different product forms to be combined to build a personalised fuelling plan.
Electrolytes support hydration
In addition to carbohydrates, BETA Fuel Energy + Electrolyte Gel contains electrolytes, which help replace minerals lost through sweat during exercise.
Specifically, sodium intake during exercise can help maintain the body's sodium balance, increase thirst, and promote fluid intake and retention in the body. This makes the gel particularly useful in warm conditions, during competitions, and in situations where sweating is more profuse than usual.
Supporting electrolytes and adequate hydration can help maintain body thermoregulation and physical and perceived performance during prolonged exercise.
BETA Fuel Energy + Electrolyte Gel is an effective fuelling option, especially in hot conditions, when the goal is to consume up to 120g of carbohydrates per hour while replenishing sodium lost through sweat.
